Masei 610 Review
The Masei 610 is an incredibly popular helmet that comes in so many different styles that you would’t even know they were the same helmet. The styles range from an Iron Man look to a USA flag and everything else in between.
This DOT and ECE approved helmet features a flip-up function where the front of the helmet, including visor, flips up in a futuristic helmet style. This feature looks very cool on some of the helmet styles such as the Gold and Demo White-Red helmet.
Available in all sizes the Masei 610 also features as ABS Shell, removable and washable cheek pads, clear visor and weighs just 3.3 pounds.
Masei 610 Review
Many of these Masei 610 helmets may indeed look like novelty helmets, however they are all DOT and ECE approved and therefore safe for using on the roads.
We have no complaints about the Masei 610 and noise levels. Some people prefer a ride as quiet as possible and while the Masei 610 may not be incredibly quiet, you will never find the noise levels in this helmet irritating.
One of the best features of this helmet is that it does have good ventilation. Even if you were to get hot you can easily flip-up the visor when you have stopped to allow the air inside your helmet.
At 3.3 pounds the Masei 610 isn’t really a very heavy helmet at all. A lot of people seem to think that because of the novelty look that some of these helmets have that they are probably heavy and not every rider friendly. While the helmet does have some issues, weight is not one of them.
Shell and Liner
The Masei 610 comes in such a huge variety of designs that their will surely be at least one that will suit your style. The helmet comes in all sizes and and features an ABS Shell as well as removable and washable cheek pads.
The visor that comes with the Masei 610 is a clear visor, however you can also get a smoked, chrome or iridium visor at a small additional cost. However, our biggest issue with the visor isn’t the style it comes in, but the fact that your view is obstructed by the centre of the visor being covered. Yes it is there to make the visor look like eyes, and yes it does work, but is it practical? Not really.
- Available in dozens of different styles
- Cool flip-up visor design
- Removable and washable cheek pads
- DOT & ECE approved
- Visibility is restricted because of the eye design of the visor
The Masei 610 is truly a mixed bag, it comes in dozens of different designs, many of which look very cool. It is also DOT and ECE approved and seems like a fairly sturdy helmet, however, you can’t help but think the visor really lets this helmet down. The centre of the visor which makes up the nose area obscures your view in such a way that you can’t help but think it’s a little dangerous.
If you can put up with the visor issues then the Masei 610 isn’t too bad, it has some decent features such as an ABS Shell, removable and washable cheek pads, cool lift up visor area to expose the face as well as a few others minor things. However, it feels more like a display helmet, something cool to show off in your garage or man cave than to wear whilst out riding.
If you prefer style over substance then yes, this is a very stylish helmet. However, when it comes to substance their are far better helmets on the market today.
The most simple way of looking at the Masei 610 is a helmet that favours style over substance. It looks incredibly cool (in its many different styles), however its let down hugely when it comes to visibility as the visor is simply not very well designed. If you can live with the lack of visibility then go ahead, this helmet will look great, however its not a helmet that we can rate very highly due to this design flaw.
