Shark RAW Blank Helmet Review
This aviation inspired helmet has a 3/4 thermoplastic shell with off-road style goggles and plastic face mask that will make it look as if you’re ready to jump into your jet fighter at a moments notice.
This DOT approved helmet comes in various colours and also has a 5 year warranty, a sure sign of quality.
Shark RAW Blank Helmet Review
The Shark RAW Blank Helmet is DOT certified and meets the strict safety requirements set out by the Department of Transportation.
Open face helmets tend to be fairly noisy in comparison with full-face helmets. However, the tight fitting of the m,ask, goggles and helmet make it a lot quieter than you might expect. We would even go as far as saying that it’s quieter than some full-face helmets.
As you would expect from a 3/4 helmet, you will get plenty of ventilation in the front. While the mask prevents a lot of the air getting through, it is equipped with a substantial opening (with plastic mesh covering it), while also sporting various other vents including two horizontal vents along the top.
At just 2.61 pounds the Shark RAW Blank Helmet is both incredibly light-weight and comfortable to wear no matter what the riding conditions.
Shell and Liner
Constructed with injected thermoplastic resin, the Shark RAW Blank Helmet is both light-weight and comfortable to wear. It comes in a small variety of colours so you should be able to find one that suits your taste.
Inside the helmet the liner is very comfortable, even if the cheek pads do feel a little loose.
The double pane goggles that comes with the Shark RAW Blank Helmet are both anti-fog and anti-scratch, ensuring the best vision possible whilst out on your motorcycle. However, we also have to mention that they don’t feel like quality goggles, you may want to upgrade them in the future.
- Quick release Google System and Face Mask
- Double pane anti-fog lens
- DOT approved
- Thermoplastic resin shell
- Light-weight design
- 5 year warranty
- Face mask and goggles are not the best quality
There is no doubt that the Shark RAW Blank Helmet is a great looking helmet. If you want to stand out from the crowd then this helmet will undoubtedly help you do that.
The Shark RAW Blank Helmet excels in many areas including ventilation, shell and noise as well as being DOT approved, however it is let down by the goggles and mask which are not of the best quality. We would suggest you upgrade them to a much better pair if you can.
If you can look past the issues with the mask and goggles then you can’t deny that this is a great helmet, both looks and quality wise and one we would happily wear on the road ourselves as it does a lot of things well.
The very cool looking helmet will make you look like a jet fighter rather than a motorcycle owner. It is packed with some great features and excels in many areas, however it is let down by the goggles which feel cheap. If you can look past this (or upgrade them) then you have a very cool helmet at a very fair price.
